Julie Kegels

Kegels comes out of the same Antwerp academy that produced the Antwerp Six and Martin Margiela, and her work carries that lineage’s conceptual rigor while refusing its severity: collections toy with the codes of the polished woman — the office skirt, the ballet flat, the twin set — and knock them deliberately off balance, half-undone, mid-gesture, caught between poise and collapse. The result reads as clothes about the performance of femininity rather than a costume of it.

For a label barely two seasons old, the ascent has been unusually steep: a place on the official Paris calendar, the LVMH Prize nod, and now the slot that formally opens Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 — a season-opening platform that historically signals which young house the industry expects to matter next.
