Shiatzy Chen
Founded in Taipei in 1978 by Wang Chen Tsai-Hsia, Shiatzy Chen pioneered what the house calls “neo-Chinese chic” — couture-level embroidery and Chinese craft traditions reworked through Western silhouettes. The founder still leads the design studio, and the brand has been a long-standing fixture on the official Paris calendar.

Shiatzy ChenWang Chen built the house on a conviction that Chinese dress traditions deserved the same runway seriousness as European couture — mandarin collars, silk brocades, and hand-embroidery executed in the house’s own ateliers, where a single garment can carry hundreds of hours of needlework. The brand began showing in Paris in 2008, planting its flag with a flagship on rue Saint-Honoré.
Nearly five decades in, Shiatzy Chen remains family-led and craft-obsessed, one of the few Asian houses with a permanent seat at Paris Fashion Week — proof that the calendar’s definition of French-grade savoir-faire has more than one homeland.
