Takahashi’s proposition is radical in its simplicity: knit everything. Garments emerge from computer-programmed knitting machines nearly whole, minimizing cut-and-sew waste, and the signature Pottery series — ribbed, vase-like dresses that hold their form without darts or zips — has become the label’s calling card. Recycled polyester and traceable yarns are the default, not the exception.

The Miyake lineage shows in the marriage of research and wearability — clothes that pack flat, resist wrinkles, and dress a working life — but CFCL’s framing is its own: uniform-making for contemporary living, with the supply chain treated as part of the design. Its B Corp certification made it a reference point for what accountable fashion can look like at runway level.
