Dries VanNoten
Established in Antwerp in 1986 by its namesake founder, a member of the Antwerp Six, the house is defined by painterly print, unexpected color, and a collector’s approach to textile. Julian Klausner, a La Cambre graduate who joined the studio in 2018, was appointed creative director following Van Noten’s 2024 retirement and now leads both the women’s and men’s collections.

Dries Van NotenVan Noten arrived in London in 1986 in a rented van with five other Antwerp academy graduates, and left as part of the group that redrew fashion’s map. The house he built stayed proudly independent for decades — famously spending nothing on advertising and everything on fabric — before Spain’s Puig took a majority stake in 2018 with the founder still at the helm.
The signatures are unmistakable: dense embroidery, clashing florals, Indian and Moroccan textile craft filtered through Flemish restraint, and shows — the gold-confetti 100th collection among them — remembered as some of Paris’s most beautiful. Klausner, promoted from within the studio, has been received as a continuity choice with his own hand: the garden is the same, the gardener new.
