Phantom Rose
Phantom Rose is San Diego designer Javier Martinez’s sustainable streetwear label — every piece cut from reused, recycled, revived, or natural fabrics and plant-based leathers, the “phantom” in the name a ghost that haunts the unsustainable. Martinez, an industrial engineer by training, most recently showed the twelve-piece Office Lust collection.

The name makes the politics gothic: the phantom is fashion’s waste, and the label exists to haunt it.
Office Lust, the most recent collection, ran the system at twelve pieces — proof the rules produce fashion, not compromise. Phantom Rose walks the Saturday Evening show at Espace Cléry on October 3 in The Bureau’s Paris program.
