Vaquera
Founded in New York in 2016 and led by co-creative directors Patric DiCaprio and Bryn Taubensee, Vaquera describes its work as “fashion fan fiction” — subverting luxury codes with exaggerated volumes, oversized bows, and deflationary humor. The duo relocated operations to Paris in 2025, turning that outsider lens on Parisian polish itself.
Profile
VaqueraVaquera came up through downtown New York’s DIY scene — cast from friends, staged in community spaces — and got famous on gestures like a wearable Tiffany’s gift box, luxury’s icons loved and lampooned in the same garment. Giant bows, trailing hems, underwear as outerwear: the clothes exaggerate desire until it turns comic, then cut it with genuine tenderness.
The label’s move onto the Paris calendar came with backing from Comme des Garçons’ Dover Street Market ecosystem, placing it in a lineage of sanctioned outsiders. Now produced from Paris, Vaquera plays its role in the capital the way it played it in New York — the guest who loves the party too much to behave at it.
